I recently looked into the rumours surrounding the upcoming iPhone 12 and discovered that it was rumored to be released on a December or January date. This led me to think if the arrival of new flagship smartphones will take place in later cycles of the year, maybe sometime between spring and summer. Some phones are predicted to come out during Spring, like OnePlus 9 and 10 (the latter two being rather dated), while others are expected to hit stores in Summer, like the Redmi Note 9 and Xiaomi Mi 9T (which I think might not even arrive in China until then).

OnePlus is very good at releasing a new model sooner than its competitors do which means that the company usually does not release products that were already available last year. As such, we see a clear pattern of delays when launching new OnePlus devices. In this scenario, we can see the imminent launch of the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro Max which includes four cameras as well as 5G support. While the latter has already been confirmed as the successor to the Huawei Mate 40 Series, the former could still come due to the size differences. Both phones feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with up to 128GB and 256GB storage, respectively.


While the latest models seem to share almost similar specs to their predecessors, the biggest difference comes from camera technology, with each manufacturer offering different features and improvements in order to attract a larger audience to give them a competitive advantage. Although both Huawei and Samsung offer dual SIM cards in the upcoming device, this decision should be taken by consumers, while Microsoft hasn’t commented much about whether they intend to add additional memory variants to the device. We can assume that some speculations regarding performance issues might happen in future, considering why Google always uses top-notch chipsets instead in its flagship phones, but so far they seem to work well.


Another important aspect of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro compared to the other model is the lack of a charger port with LTE networks, although there is a USBC port on the top variant which will probably work too. It does also lack stereo speakers, another major characteristic of Huawei phones. Another thing is that it lacks NFC, so users will need to use either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for communication. On paper, Huawei knows how to build high-end mobile phones, so don’t expect them to let us down. There is also a possibility that Huawei may introduce more advanced technology on the Huawei Mate 40 in the future as well. Overall, I would recommend Huawei Mate40 Pro to everyone interested in tech.

At this moment the only thing that LG needs to decide is to sell the LG OLED TVs exclusively or expand their offerings to incorporate other aspects of the LG ecosystem. Despite having a solid partnership with Apple, LG didn’t really consider selling multiple generations of smartphones simultaneously on its flagship lineup. Now, the only real question here is whether LG decides to bring out older versions of Android OS. Rumors suggest that the company wants to produce affordable smartphones, like the Z Flip, by 2024.

It weighs approximately 190 grams, contains three cameras, runs on a Snapdragon 888 chipset (the latest Qualcomm chipset), and sports an IP68 rating. Its plastic body allows it to be comfortably pocketable, which adds one more benefit to the smartphone.
